Made in France, Mauviel is the go-to cookware manufacturer for both professional chefs and households worldwide. This 3-piece set includes frying pans of varying sizes: a 7.9" pan, a 9.4" pan, and an 11" pan.
Made with exceptional conduction in mind, these pans are crafted from extra-thick black carbon steel and feature iron handles. Black carbon steel is a fantastic heat conductor as it rapidly rises in temperature. It is the perfect material for searing, browning, and grilling.
These pans offer high performance and commercial-grade durability, allowing for longer preheating and superior searing capabilities. The rivets in the pans are made from stainless steel 18/10.
To achieve a natural non-stick surface, it is recommended to season the pan before its first use. Over time, the pan will develop this property and darken in color.
The pan comes with a beeswax coating, which serves the purpose of preventing rust and saving time when seasoning. Prior to the first use, clean the pan with very hot water to remove any residue. If there is still wax leftover, use a paper towel to wipe your hot pan. For seasoning, cover the bottom of the pan with flavorless oil and heat it for 5 minutes. Allow the pan to cool before draining the oil and wiping it clean with paper towels. Repeat this process a second time, and your pan will be ready for use. After this process, the pan will acquire a natural non-stick property.
When heating up the pan, it is advisable to do so slowly. Our products have exceptional conductivity, so it is not necessary to use cooktop knobs or controls at their maximum heating power. Instead, they should be used at around 60% capacity, which equates to a level of 6 on a scale of 1-10. Avoid using high heat for extended periods of time and refrain from leaving an empty pan on a heated burner for too long.
In terms of usage and care, it is recommended to hand wash the pans with hot water immediately after use and then wipe them dry with a paper towel. Store them in a dry place. Do not remove the layer that forms on the bottom of your pan over time, as this layer is not dirt but rather creates a solid, non-stick film. Before storing your utensil, lightly grease it with olive oil to prevent rust. Following these steps, your cookware will remain faithful to you for many years.
Please note that these pans are not dishwasher safe and should only be hand washed. Avoid using metal utensils on the non-stick cooking surface, as this can cause scratches or damage. The use of scouring pads, steel wool, abrasive cleansers, bleach, and/or oven cleaners is also not recommended. Misuse of your cookware will void your warranty.
